Content Guidelines & Community Standards
Welcome to OpalDent Academy, your trusted platform for online education in dentistry and oral health sciences across Canada and beyond.
Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous learning environment for dental professionals, students, and educators.
To maintain the quality and integrity of our educational community, all users are expected to follow these guidelines:
1. Prohibited Content
- Hate Speech & Discrimination: Content that promotes or condones hatred, discrimination, or violence toward individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic is strictly prohibited.
- Illegal or Harmful Activities: Material that encourages illegal activity, professional misconduct, or harm to self or others—including unsafe dental practices—is not allowed.
- Inappropriate or Offensive Material: OpalDent Academy is a professional learning space. Sexually explicit, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate content will be removed.
2. Copyright and Intellectual Property:
- Respect for Copyright: Users must respect copyright laws and intellectual property rights. Posting or sharing copyrighted material without proper authorization is not permitted.
- Original Content: Users are encouraged to create and share original content or properly attribute sources when sharing third-party content.
3. Academic Integrity:
- Plagiarism and Cheating: Academic dishonesty, including plagiarism, cheating, or the unauthorized use of materials or information, is strictly prohibited.
- Evidence-Based Information: All clinical and academic materials should be accurate, evidence-based, and supported by credible dental or medical references.
4. User Conduct:
- Professional Communication: Members are expected to interact respectfully and maintain a professional tone in all communications—both in course discussions and community spaces.
- Compliance with Policies: All users must comply with OpalDent Academy’s Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and applicable Canadian regulations.
5. Reporting Violations:
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these standards, please contact our moderation team.
Reports are reviewed promptly, and appropriate actions—such as content removal or account suspension—will be taken as needed.
